Hmmm … I must admit I didn’t watch all 21 minutes of this video ’cause well … I have a life. However, I am so tired of people quoting stats and numbers to try and shock us Americans. I do like her drawings though. They’re cute.
We all do have too much stuff and we should care how we get our stuff and how our stuff affects other stuff like our natural resources and stuff.
P.S.S. I’m feeling bad that I may have implied that you don’t have a life, which is totally rude and unintentional. Sorry Andy, I know you do and that you care about lots of stuff. Which is cool by the way.
That will teach me to comment right after drinking way too much Diet Coke.
I love how clearly this video defines the the problem. Thanks for bringing it to light. The “golden arrow” is so embedded in culture it’s hard to resist even when you’re aware of it. This vid is gonna help me keep sticking with the ‘01 Accord a little longer.
Couldn’t agree more about the influence of corporations being too great. You can’t blame corporations. It’s their job to maximize shareholder value. One of the problems in my opinion is that we treat corporations like individuals by giving them “free speech” (ie if we eliminate or severely limit their ability to contribute to political campaigns then we’re limiting their speech…BOO). Getting the massive $ out of politics is a big key. How do we do it? Our system allows corporations too much control.
